What documents do I need in order to hire a van?

What documents do I need in order to hire a van?
You will need your driving license and 2 proofs for your address. Please click here for full details.
When do I need to return the vehicle?
You can drop the van back once you have finished with it at anytime. We we’ll show you the procedure when you pick up the vehicle. You can also leave a vehicle here in our secure compound which can be collected at anytime.
What if I have points on my driving license?
If you have any points or have had more than 2 accidents in the last year please call us to check that we can still hire you a vehicle. We may need you to know your driving license number and NI number when you call so we can check with our insurance company.
What age do I need to be in order to drive?
The minimum driver age is 21. The maximum age is 79 (subject to licence restrictions). Drivers between 21-24 will have other restrictions.

If you are unable to provide these documents in full, we will not be able to hire a vehicle to you and/or insure you to drive them and you may lose your hire fee.
What should I bring on the day of hire?
To speed up the process, you can email copies of the required documents in advance. On the day of hire the driver will need to bring:
· The photo card part of your driving licence that you have held for at least 2 years and having no more than 6 points

· Your National Insurance Number or a DVLA Check code (see https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence)
· Two different and current utility bills/bank statements dated in the last 3 months with the name and address matching that of the driving license.

Is insurance included in the hire cost?
Yes. Standard excess on our vehicles is between £1200 and £1600 and you could be liable for this amount should the vehicle be damaged whilst in your possession. You can choose to reduce this by taking our Collision Damage Waiver.
